1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Clean’s website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Clean helps you photograph packaged food products and receive AI-generated information about ingredients, processing, and related factors. The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Clean does not provide medical, nutritional, or legal advice. You are responsible for reading actual product labels and consulting qualified professionals for health or dietary decisions.

3. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age requirements (typically 18+, or older if required where you live). You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in violation of law or third-party rights;
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach security;
• Upload malware, spam, or content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing;
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code or models except where permitted by law;
• Use automated means to access the Service in a way that imposes an unreasonable load;
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

6. AI-generated content

Outputs may be generated using artificial intelligence. Such content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. You should not rely solely on Clean for decisions about food safety, allergies, medical conditions, or compliance with regulations. Always verify information against the manufacturer’s label and official sources.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, branding, and documentation, is owned by Clean or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works except as allowed by law.

8. User content

You retain ownership of photos and content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, store, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to grant this license.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLEAN AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100), IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID ANYTHING.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Clean and its affiliates against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or harms the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where prohibited by your local mandatory consumer protections. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this page. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the Service.
