Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Openlife AI Inc (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Truelabel website, applications, and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials processed by our third-party identity provider.
  • Photos and scan data. When you scan a product, you may upload images of packaging or labels. We process those images to generate ingredient-related insights. We may store images and analysis results associated with your account.
  • Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
  • Usage and technical data. We may collect device type, browser type, approximate region (from IP), and similar technical data to operate and secure the Service.
  • Communications. If you contact us or submit feedback, we retain the content of your message and your contact details to respond.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • Generate AI-assisted analyses of food products you choose to scan;
  • Communicate with you about the Service or support requests;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Artificial intelligence

Analysis results may be produced using third-party AI models. Images or text derived from your scans may be sent to those providers solely to generate responses for you. We do not use your data to train third-party models unless required by those providers' terms; please review their documentation for details. AI outputs are informational and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

5. Storage and service providers

We use reputable third-party infrastructure and service providers (for example, cloud hosting, databases, and payment processing) to store data and deliver the Service. These providers process data under contractual safeguards and only as needed to operate the Service.

6. Cookies, tracking technologies, and analytics

We use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar tracking technologies (“Tracking Technologies”) to operate the Service, understand how it is used, measure the effectiveness of communications, and improve your experience. These technologies fall into the following categories:

  • Essential / strictly necessary. Required for authentication, security, and core functionality. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
  • Analytics and performance. We use third-party analytics services to collect anonymized or pseudonymized usage data such as pages visited, features used, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic region. This helps us understand how users interact with the Service and identify areas for improvement. These providers may process data on servers located in the United States.
  • Advertising and measurement. We may use third-party advertising tools to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and to build audiences for targeted advertising on third-party platforms. These tools may collect information such as pages viewed, actions taken, and device identifiers, which the third-party provider may associate with accounts you hold on their platforms.

If you are located in California, Pennsylvania, or Florida, we will present a consent banner before activating non-essential Tracking Technologies. No analytics or advertising trackers will fire until you affirmatively accept. If you decline, only strictly necessary technologies will operate. Users outside these states may have trackers enabled by default but can opt out at any time using the methods described below.

You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and local storage for this site, after which the consent banner will reappear. You may also opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as DAA WebChoices or NAI Consumer Opt Out, or through your device's advertising settings.

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for honoring DNT signals. We do not currently alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals, but we honor the consent mechanism described above.

7. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who assist us in operating the Service, when required by law, or to protect our rights and users' safety. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.

8. Data retention

We retain information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data subject to legal retention requirements.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us through the Contact page or email austin@checktruelabel.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

11. California residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, “CCPA/CPRA”), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the categories of sources from which it is collected, the business purposes for collection, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccuracies, the right to opt out of “sales” or “sharing” of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

We do not sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. We may “share” certain identifiers or activity data with analytics and advertising partners (described in Section 6) for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes as defined under the CPRA. Where required, we obtain your opt-in consent before activating such sharing. You may opt out at any time by declining the cookie consent banner or by contacting us.

To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us at austin@checktruelabel.com or through our contact form. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframes required by law.

12. Pennsylvania and Florida residents

If you are a resident of Pennsylvania or Florida, we present a consent banner before activating non-essential Tracking Technologies, as described in Section 6. In compliance with applicable state wiretapping, electronic surveillance, and electronic communications privacy statutes, we do not intercept, record, or monitor your electronic communications without your knowledge. Tracking Technologies operate only with your affirmative consent in these states, and data collected is used solely for the purposes described in this policy.

If your state grants rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling, you may exercise those rights by contacting us at austin@checktruelabel.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy rights.

13. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. International users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws.

15. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
